NFRC draws architects to new roofing show

As part of its ongoing ‘Think roofs – think NFRC’ campaign that exclusively targets the architectural and specification community, the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC) - the UK’s largest roofing trade association - is actively encouraging architects to visit the inaugural RCi Show at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry on October 29 and 30.

Alongside key industry partners such as the Liquid Roofing and Waterproofing Association (LRWA), Single Ply Roofing Association (SPRA), Institute of Roofing (IoR) and of course, the NFRC’s Competent Person Scheme, CompetentRoofer, the Federation will be on hand to provide help and advice and technical insights on a range of roofing topics.

These include; the Federation’s strict code of practice and standards, vetting procedures, training and a wide-ranging technical support covering all roofing disciplines. New BS 5534 guidelines and the issue of Torch-on and poor solar installations will also be heavily debated.

Over the course of the two days, architects and specifiers who visit the show will be able to take advantage of drop-in sessions at the Technical Centre. Seminars will cover pitched roofing: change in standards BS 5534, a debate on Torch-on, screw-ups in solar, heritage roofing techniques, Jim’s Jotter Live (from SPRA Technical Director) and Siphonic drainage - meeting the climate challenge.

Commenting on its attendance at the RCi Show, Ray Horwood CBE, Chief Executive of NFRC said: “In the ever changing world of construction, it pays to keep abreast of developments within the roofing industry and this latest show provides the perfect platform for NFRC to demonstrate its support for the architectural community.

“We have had an overwhelming response from architects and specifiers to our ‘Think roofs – think NFRC’ campaign, and we look forward to meeting many more new faces at this latest event.”
