Hampshire-based Huxley Golf, the PGA’s official supplier of all-weather golf surfaces, has announced the appointment of a new Authorised Distributor and Installer for the Iberian region of Andalucía.
Based near Malaga on the Costa del Sol in southern Spain, Huxley Golf Andalucía will bring PGA-standard all-weather professional greens, tees and practice aids to one of Europe’s foremost golfing destinations.
Andalucía, often described as Europe’s golfing capital, hosts over 150 golf courses which benefit from beautiful surrounds and a sunny climate that allows the sport to be enjoyed year round. The European Tour’s Open de Andalucía is perhaps the most famous of the region’s many tournaments, though golf in Andalucía enjoys high participation from golf enthusiasts at all levels, both locally and from golfers visiting from around the world.
Whilst the game is incredibly popular in Andalucía, the challenging economic climate means courses across the region are increasingly looking to reduce their running costs. Huxley Golf’s low maintenance, premier all-weather greens, tees and practice surfaces will help Andalucía’s golf courses to improve practice and playing facilities, reduce their maintenance costs and lower water consumption. These benefits will also appeal to golfing home owners, hotels, universities and leisure complexes, further broadening Huxley Golf’s potential market.
Huxley Golf Andalucía will be led by Director Lars Aarup, himself a passionate sportsman driven by a love of long-distance running, fitness, golf and parachute jumping, with over 300 adrenaline-fuelled descents to his name! With a background in successfully running a landscape gardening company for over 25 years in Denmark, Lars’ expertise ideally positions him for the role.
