The extreme weather of recent weeks has battered homes up and down the country, leaving many of them in need of some TLC.
High winds and heavy rain have caused roof and guttering problems for a large number of British homeowners, with flat roofs being a particular concern – but with the introduction of a state-of-the-art flat roof system from Anglian Home Improvements could put an end to all that.
Traditionally, flat roofs are known for being high maintenance and costly as they can be easily damaged by extremes of temperature such as heat and frost. Rainwater does not run off a flat roof in the same way as a pitched roof, so where there is damage this often results in water leaking into the home.
But rather than using felt, bitumen, stones and grit, Anglian Home Improvements has developed a superior, highly durable flat roof system using fibreglass. It has no joints, is not prone to leakage, is quick to install and has a lifespan of around thirty years. In fact, it is so strong it can even be used safely as an attractive, easily cleaned and 100% waterproof finish for balconies, terraces or walkways.
There are two types of Anglian flat roof: the Eco Roof, which has a thick layer of thermal insulation, reducing heat loss and therefore resulting in lower fuel bills and a reduced carbon footprint; and the Standard Roof, which is ideal for outbuildings and garages, or where existing insulation levels are adequate. They come in a wide range of colours, including anti-slip surfaces and mineral finishes, and can include details such as roof-lights and rainwater outlets. Anglian’s lead roll effect even replicates traditional lead roofs too.
Melanie McDonald, Head of Marketing and Communications at Anglian Home Improvements, said, “What were once considered ‘unusual’ weather conditions, such as periods of torrential rainfall or heavy snow, seem to have become increasingly common, which brings added concerns and costs for the homeowner. At Anglian, we are constantly investing in research and development to ensure that our customers have reliable, durable, low maintenance home improvement solutions – from extra deep guttering to help with excessive rainfall, through to advanced fibreglass roofing systems to protect your home – meaning there’s a lot less to worry about when the weather takes a turn for the worst.”
Established in 1966, Anglian Home Improvements is the UK’s biggest double glazing window, door and conservatory specialist. With almost 50 years’ experience, Anglian offers an extensive range of home improvement products, including windows, doors, conservatories, roof trim and much more.
