Icopal, the world reference in waterproofing systems, has recently launched its new Dalite Rooflight brochure, which provides customers with a complete technical overview of Icopal’s new modular rooflight range and accessories.
With full BBA approval, the contemporary Dalite range is designed to meet environmental, thermal and structural building regulations for those specifying rooflights.
Incorporating rooflights into a flat roof can provide three times more daylight than the same area of vertical windows and offers a much more even distribution of light. It is well known that natural light improves quality of life whilst boosting concentration and productivity.
Icopal’s Dalite Rooflight range, which maximises the transmission of high quality light, offers the ideal rooflight solution. Icopal Dalite rooflights provide health and wellbeing benefits as well as reductions in building running costs and CO2 emissions resulting in an improved building performance.
Incorporating Icopal Dalite rooflights into a flat roof can minimise energy costs with reduced reliance on the use of artificial light.
Heating costs can also be lowered due to natural solar gain. Typically, the total CO2 emissions associated with all aspects of operating a building without rooflights can be over 50% higher than for a building design featuring 12% rooflights across the roof area. Research has shown that rooflights installed on 15-20% of a roof area will positively contribute to an overall reduction of CO2 emissions.
The Dalite Rooflight range offers a variety of models to cater for each individual building application. Dalite Premium provides the ultimate in rooflight design, delivering maximum security and high insulation in a sleek, stylish design package.
Alternatively, the Dalite Standard unit offers a solution that is adaptable for virtually any application, with exceptional insulation values through an innovative kerb design and cassette glazing system. The thermally efficient robust multiwall PVC kerb with integral membrane clamp allows for multiple glazing options that not just meet but exceed the thermal requirements of Part L.
The Dalite range also includes circular and dome only options, providing distinct styling and character. Powder coated colour options for the Dalite Premium frame and glass or polycarbonate selections for the glazing mean that specifiers have complete control over a rooflight product that is bespoke to their needs.
The specification and installation of Dalite Rooflights can achieve up to three credits against section 7.0.1 Daylighting of the Code for Sustainable Homes. They are also designed to meet exacting criteria for weather performance, non-fragility, fire performance and ventilation, and comply with the relevant recognised tests and standards.
Phil Singleton, Product Manager at Icopal, commented: “Icopal’s Dalite rooflight range offers a variety of options, which makes it the ideal choice for providing natural daylight into commercial, industrial and domestic buildings.
“With multiple glazing options that exceed the thermal requirements of Part L, the Dalite range meets environmental, thermal and structural building regulations, whilst offering outstanding aesthetics.”
