M.R. Site Services’ long experience in the roofing industry has enabled it to develop its Quantum range of access hatches to suit any project where quality and performance are paramount.
All Quantum access hatches are made to order to suit the requirements of a project and a recent installation for the international pharmaceutical company GSK is one of the best illustrations of this.
To gain roof access to one of GSK’s buildings, the management team were faced with the prospect of full scaffolding to carry out essential maintenance work. However, when M.R. Site Services was called in, they solved the problem by suggesting that an original fixed skylight was replaced with a Quantum access hatch with a dome.
A small scaffold tower was erected underneath the skylight inside the building, the existing skylight removed in sections to expose the upstands, and then a newly manufactured access hatch was inserted through the roof space, flipped over and then fully installed including site welding to the Kalzip roof. GSK was delighted with the solution which allows a fully operational access route to the roof for future maintenance.
Designed to fit most types of roofing, including metal, felt, concrete or plastic, Quantum access hatches feature high quality gas strut assisted hinged lids for one-man operation and the flexibility of the design is such that they can adapt to unexpected roof features on installation.
Many different types of hatch are available such as domed, soffit, sliding and vertical. Operation can be single, twin or multiple gas struts, power assisted, smoke activated and smoke vents are available either mechanically or electrically operated. Hatches can also be made with integral safety handrail systems.
British manufactured to meet all international standards and Part L requirements, Quantum access hatches come with a full manufacturer’s warranty and finishes include stucco embossed, mill finished, colour coated, steel, stainless steel, copper, aluzinc and plastisol.
