MOVE TO IMPRESSIVE NEW PREMISES BENEFITS CUSTOMERS OF FLEETWOOD ARCHITECTURAL

Fleetwood Architectural Aluminium, one of the UK’s leading specialists in the design, manufacture and installation of aluminium windows, doors, façades, curtain walling - in particular unitised systems – and rainscreens, is now operating from impressive new premises in Bath Road, Slough.

Previously located at three separate sites in Slough and Wootton Bassett, the company moved last year and reports that consolidating all its operations and disciplines under one roof has already led to increased operating efficiency and an enhanced service to customers. Benefits include faster, more accurate tendering, improved design and estimating facilities, better product quality and a greatly increased manufacturing capability, particularly for unitised systems, with 80,000 square feet of production and warehousing space.

The £I million relocation, which involved refurbishment of the premises and the purchase of some new machinery, represents a significant investment for FAA, a privately owned, family company founded in the late 1980s. The decision is indicative of the company’s bullish attitude towards new business opportunities and its belief in the resilience of the UK market. It is also part of the company’s future strategy to provide a unitised service to compete directly with large European fabricators.

In addition to providing excellent modern facilities for the company’s 100 direct employees (FAA also has a further 100 sub-contract staff), the new premises house an enlarged state-of-the-art manufacturing operation that includes four CNC machining centres, six CAD-linked cutting centres and an in-house pressed metal and powder coating facility including full pre-treatment, complete with a new 7-metre oven.
