Alumet's new state of the art facade is starting to make waves in the construction industry.
The retrofit system installed at the company's Warwickshire headquarters earlier this year was named as the 'non-domestic retrofit project of the year' at the recent inaugural Retro Expo awards.
The ERC 50 Schuco system provides high levels of insulation leading to lower running costs, reduces Co2 emissions, provides ultra low 'u' values and also allows the building to stay operational during the installation. Alumet's facade also incorporates triple glazed windows and BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaic) modules providing a valuable source of energy and a new income stream through the Feed in Tariff scheme.
Chair of the judging panel Peter Rickaby (Rickaby Thompson Associates) was impressed with Alumet's commitment to green construction "This is an exemplar project that could be widely replicated on other office buildings" he said.
Over 70 guests recently attended a Retrofit Showcase at Alumet, the forward thinking business presented opportunities and solutions for the retrofit and regeneration market. The audience were entertained by several speakers who explained the benefits of the new systems such as new sources of energy and making old buildings look as good as new.
The specialist construction and renewable energy company is showing no signs of slowing down. After expanding their portfolio to include retrofit systems, they have diversified further by offering a whole range of renewable technologies.
