The UK’s only manufacturer of designer radiators, Merriott Radiators, has launched an innovative design that provides SMART protection in commercial environments.
Merriott’s new SMART LST offers a fully compliant, NHS-safe surface temperature solution. Protecting vulnerable people from high heat risks within environments such as hospitals and schools, the new product is easy to install and boasts a single-piece, lightweight frame with no compromise on heat output.
Essentially working as a cover over the radiator, the new SMART LST is perfect for commercial environments and features a 30° opening and drop to floor case, making it fully accessible. This hinge design is a unique feature to the Merriott range. It also boasts a safe and secure lock system, rounded corners and a flat surface, making it a truly low-risk product.
Charlotte Steele, Merriott Radiators Product Manager, explains: “Our new SMART LST offers an all-in-one solution that guarantees the highest quality coupled with a protection guarantee. The cover works efficiently to ensure high-temperature radiators are not exposed to general touch, removing the risk of injury, yet its highly ventilated design means it retains a high heat output.”
The new cover reflects a wider range of products being developed by Merriott and incorporates five essential qualities, Safe & Simple, Manageable, Adaptable & Assured, Robust and Temperate – SMART.
Charlotte adds: “Our SMART range is the next stage of innovation at Merriott Radiators. Along with the fully compliant protective cover, we have also introduced Merriott SMART Radiant Panels. These boast short heat-up times, low maintenance and good controllability.”
The SMART LST is available in a range of widths and heights and can be applied to standard round-top, horizontal panel and column radiators. The product has a 10-year warranty and can be purchased either as a fully NHS-compliant product, or as a non-compliant product.
