Timber Expo 2011 saw Accsys Technologies and Medite Europe Ltd launch Medite® Tricoya®, the first major innovation in the wood panel industry. This unique, extreme, durable fibreboard has an expected life span of sixty years and will lead to a new generation of wood based panel products for exterior and wetted use. Under the terms of an agreement signed last month, Accsys Technologies will supply Medite Europe Ltd. with acetylated material over the next 16 months from the Company’s plant in Arnhem, Netherlands. The acetylated material will be transferred to Medite’s panel production facility in Clonmel, Ireland, where it will be processed to produce Medite Tricoya and the product will be distributed and sold by Medite in the UK, RoI and the Netherlands. Peter will be working closely with the distribution network to manage the routes to market, ensuring that Medite Tricoya’s launch is fully maximised. Medite Tricoya demonstrates outstanding durability and stability and can be used in the most extreme and challenging environments. It can be cut, coated, coloured, sanded, struck and fastened the same way as any other performing wood fibreboard. Its key applications include: exterior cladding, façades, signage, entrance doors, outdoor, interior, wet furniture and flooring.
