Tried – As well as being utilised in many projects throughout the world, Dricon, for internal applications, and Non-Com Exterior, for external situations, have also been specified in housing developments, such as the Millennium Village in Telford. Specifiers can rest assured that both treatments are fit for purpose with over 40 years of commercial use and independent fire testing.
Tested – Under the new Euroclass Reaction to Fire Tests for timber and plywood, a relevant Classification Report certified by a third-party test house must be issued. This report must make reference to the class of treatment, timber thickness, species and whether or not an air gap is present. Unless the Classification Report identifies all the above, there may be doubts about the legitimacy of the treatment. Lonza has invested in a wide range of independent tests covering varying species and thicknesses and will only treat timber where a full Classification Report has been provided; giving you, the specifier, peace of mind when sourcing treated timbers for your next housing project requiring Euroclass fire performance.
Trusted – Dricon is backed by extensive independent certification and is the only BBA certified fire retardant treatment for timber. In addition, it holds Wood Protection Association (WPA) Approved status. Independent test data demonstrates that there is no change in fire performance of Dricon fire retardant treated timber even after 21 years in-situ.
Non-Com Exterior is the only fire retardant impregnation treatment accepted by the NHBC for exterior timber cladding. The treatment is also a WPA Approved status product. It is classified for exterior use under TS 15912 – the draft European Standard on fire retardant durability – and offers a 30-year maintenance free service life performance.
Both treatments are applied in controlled conditions at Lonza’s specialist treatment centre operating with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 accreditations. Treated products are impregnated on all faces with no need to reapply fire treatment throughout the life of the timber.
