Lonza launch CPD portal to architects and specifiers

Lonza Wood Protection is officially launching its new Continuing Professional Development (CPD) portal on Friday, November 2.

Lonza Wood Protection has offered CPD technical presentations for some time, delivered by the Lonza sales team who have a wealth of experience within the industry and extensive product knowledge. Architects are required to complete 35 hours of CPD, including 20 hours from 10 core topics, in order to retain their chartered status with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

The new Lonza CPD portal gives architects and specifiers the opportunity to complete RIBA accredited CPD from the comfort of their workstation or home computer - saving time and money over the traditional residential or visiting CPD delivery methods.

At the launch of this new service, one seminar will initially be available, with more to follow that will mirror Lonza's face to face CPD curricula.

Users watch the seminar and complete the following short examination successfully in order to receive their certificate. Individual courses are worth one hour of Continuing Professional Development and allow specifiers to obtain study hours within RIBA’s Core Curriculum under the ‘Designing and Building It’ topic.

The "fire retardant treatments for timber based products" seminar will help architects and specifiers understand the development of fire retardants, how they work, the benefits they provide, the legislation and the relevant fire tests.

The seminar also explains the key difference in the two types of fire retardant protection products and how to distinguish between different categories of fire retardant and understand which applications they are suitable for.

This first CPD seminar is available free of charge to registered users of the Lonza Wood Protection CPD portal.
