Sika Liquid Plastics and its Quality Assured Contractor Central Roofing and Building Services are very pleased to announce their latest industry accolade – winners of the NFRC Roofing Award for Liquid Applied Waterproofing.
Both companies attended the awards ceremony in Brighton on 20th May and were thrilled to beat stiff competition for the coveted prize. Steve Leech, National Sales Manager for Sika Liquid Plastics commented; “The recognition of this project is testament to the fact that liquids continue to gain market share within the flat roofing sector. Our award winning project demonstrates the suitability of liquid membranes for large roof areas, as well as their other more obvious applications on tricky detail areas.”
The award winning project was BAE Portsmouth, a large roof area that presented many challenges due to its size, the existing roof structure and the multitude of plant and complex glazing. There were also a number of technical issues to overcome such as the strict site security, lack of access to the building, and the requirements for reduced noise and disruption. Ultimately a Cold Fusion Bonded Built-Up Roof system from Sika Liquid Plastics was specified.
