ABET LAMINATI has introduced the Parade Collection, created by Giulio Iacchetti. This is an innovative and quirky range of 12 digitally printed laminate decors each available in three colour shades.
Parade is made up of two major groups of decors. One comes from the study of six different units developed through a strong digital approach. The other is the result of freehand drawings subsequently scanned and processed in order to complete the graphics of the entire laminate panel. Each decor effect is rich in purpose and is designed to cross bi-dimensional boundaries to achieve a well-rooted third dimension.
The six digital-age inspired decors are entitled ‘The Moduli family’ and include Tartan, Fishbone, Rockets, Paesemio, Knock-Out and Artichoke while the ‘Fatto A Mano family’ include Furrows, Betulla, Yayoi, Massaua, Derby and Canvas.
Paesemio, for example, depicts small white houses clinging to the sides of an imaginary hill creating a sea of roofs, doors and windows. This is a tribute to the Italian landscape dotted with many such small villages and celebrated in a popular Italian song. Fishbone is a suitably schematised and simplified fishbone which gives life to a graphic design of both iconic and ironic impact. Yayoi, on the other hand, is the name of the Japanese artist whose signature style is represented by polka dots. In this graphic, the dots give life to a type of chromatic projection obtained by the superimposition of different coloured ink drops.
The versatile and unique Parade Collection has been realised using ABET’s digital printing technology.
