KitLock announces a new add-on product for use with its KL1200 electronic locker lock.
‘Slam it’ is a slam latch locking mechanism that allows the locker or cabinet door to be pushed shut without having to turn the handle on the lock to secure the door.
“Instead of using a lock and key to secure locker and cabinet doors, more and more healthcare, educational and leisure organisations are opting for the convenience and control brought by using modern digital locks,” explains Grant Macdonald, managing director of Codelocks.
“Digital locks can be configured to allow private access to the contents of a locker or cabinet. This function is frequently used on personal lockers in schools and in many workplaces. ‘Slam it’ is a new accessory ideally suited to this type of application. The slam latch automatically secures the locker or cabinet door when it’s pushed shut – there’s no need to remember to turn the handle before entering the code to lock the locker.”
The slam latch is designed for installation with the keyless KitLock 1200 locker lock. It is very robust and can be used on wooden or steel lockers and cabinets on new installations or as a retrofit.
