Fowler McKenzie not only scooped the celebrated ‘Teamkal Contractor of the Year’ award but also claimed the ‘Best Kalzip project under 1,500 sqm’ and ‘Best use of Fabrications’ awards for the New Pro Centre, Carnoustie Golf Links. The futuristic Slough Bus Station and impressive Velodrome and Aquatics Centre projects in London were also among the top accolades at Kalzip’s recent annual Teamkal Conference & Awards ceremony. Judges Paul Harries of Baart Harries Newall Architects and Michael Hammond, World Architecture’s Editor-in-Chief commented that the New Pro Centre, Carnoustie Golf Links project was “Pleasing in its elegant simplicity, well-crafted with good detailing.” Also featuring strongly among the winners was Prater Ltd who claimed the ‘Best Kalzip project over 1,500 sqm’ and ‘Technical Excellence & Design’ awards for their work on the highly prestigious Velodrome, London. The judges commented that it was “A beautiful building, carefully crafted and technically very impressive.
