A new type of building site has been launched by Halifax-based Iplas, the UK’s most technologically-advanced manufacturer of high-performance recycled plastic products.
The company has created www.zyplex.co.uk, a web presence dedicated to Zyplex, its ground-breaking family of engineered, maintenance-free, recycled plastic products for the construction industry, which are alternatives to wood, steel and concrete.
Iplas has also developed a new corporate web site www.iplasgroup.co.uk following a rebrand of the business, which more accurately reflects the ambitions of the company, include developing products for different markets; and material sourcing, blending and trading in the UK and internationally.
The new Zyplex site contains sections on how the materials are made, the brands within the range, products constructed from the different blends, the industry sectors in which they are used and case studies of how they are utilised.
Also included are contact details for discovering more about Zyplex, links to other relevant sites and a blog, which will provide a forum for discussing the latest industry trends and issues, and offer a platform for thought leadership.
Formulated for strength, flexibility and stability, Zyplex, which was launched at Ecobuild in March 2011, is a serious engineering material manufactured under strict quality control.
Iplas uses its unique blending technology to create the different formulations, which are made from waste plastic that may otherwise be destined for landfill and is both 100 per cent recycled and completely recyclable.
In addition, Zyplex offers whole-life cost savings of over 50 per cent compared to conventional alternatives, plus significant performance advantages.
Grahame Hall, Iplas Chief Executive, believes that the arrival of Zyplex proved potential users should no longer harbour doubts about the quality of products made from recycled plastic, as this now often proved superior to the variable performance of traditional materials.
He said: “We’re very excited about launch of the new website, which was developed following extensive research amongst our customers and the market.
“Our aim is for it to make specifiers, processors and end users even more aware of the unique benefits Zyplex offers and provide a pathway for discussing key industry topics.
“The range has proved extremely popular since its launch, but its qualities and versatility mean we are continuously developing applications for a variety of different uses and the website is an excellent way for visitors to find out just what the product can do.”
Zyplex has a broad range of potential applications in sectors such as construction, industrial, equestrian and marine, in addition to being used by private consumers. These include decking, fencing and retaining walls.
There are four blends within the Zyplex range, catering for different specifications:
The company has been leading the way for mixed plastic recycling since its formation in 1999. Its products are used by many major organisations in the private and public sectors and its other output includes outdoor and street furniture - such as seats, benches and bollards - plus plastic lumber.
