A tutorial on the ins and outs of tiling has won backing from the Royal Institute of British Architects, making it the go-to guide for decorators and designers across the country.
A Book About Tiles is the brainchild of Pete Brown, the owner of Northampton-based Bedrock Tiles, and is a guidebook focusing on subjects the company finds itself helping clients with on a daily basis.
The book includes technical information covering issues such as thin tiles, sustainability, large format tiles and much more and is the only book that offers current UK guidelines and codes of practice of British Standards regarding tiles.
Mr Brown said: “The book walks through all aspects of tiles from specifying legally in commercial buildings to the correct methods of installation. The book is the perfect companion for reference while considering, specifying or installing either residential or commercial floor and wall tiles.
“Getting the backing of RIBA is massive for us and shows that we are recognised by the most important people in the industry. It’s the first book of its kind to be recognised by RIBA and we think it will be go on to become an essential read for anyone involved in tiling, either on a domestic or commercial level.”
‘A Book About Tiles’ is available online from the RIBA bookshop priced £14.97. For more details see http://www.ribabookshops.com/item/a-book-about-tiles/81315/
