Getting sporty with new panel door

The specialist steel door manufacturer, Fitzpatrick has launched Sportcel, a rebound panel door manufactured to Sport England guidelines and designed for areas where physical activity takes place.

Sportcel has been designed for environments such as sports centres, gymnasiums and schools, where extruding ironmongery could pose an injury risk, and where panic bars need to be concealed to prevent the door opening unnecessarily when hit, for example by footballs.

The completely flush doorsets are available in both single or double door configurations that sit level within the wall. Rebound panels are fixed to the inside face of the door, presenting a much safer, flat plane to the inside of a room - protecting users from unwanted injuries.

The standard 44mm thick steel doorsets are fitted with 1.2mm Zintec coated steel sheets on the door face. The rebound panels - fitted to the inside face - are also constructed with 1.2mm Zintec coated steel and in-filled with Rockwool insulation.

Fitzpatrick offers expert technical support and an NBS-based specification facility. A team of specification/project managers provide a single point of contact at all stages –ensuring every specification meets the project expectations.

Furthermore, Fitzpatrick has an extensive range of in-house test facilities including a furnace for full size doorsets and a continuous product development programme, providing specifiers with confidence that Fitzpatrick can manufacture high performing doorsets that meet the various Building Regulations.

Russell Grove, Sales and Marketing Manager at Fitzpatrick comments: “Sportcel is an exceptional doorset from Fitzpatrick, that has been designed to protect people from injuries – which is a major consideration in school gyms and leisure centres.”

Additionally, all of Fitzpatrick’s doorsets and frames are fully certified to recognised performance standards, and accredited to BS EN ISO 9001: 2000 quality standard, while being produced in state-of-the-art manufacturing plants that are ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified.
