The UK’s largest brick manufacturer Ibstock has donated 4,000 bricks to a performance art project to help highlight the work of housing and homelessness charity, Shelter.
The project, led by architectural practice Marcel Mauer, aims to raise awareness of Shelter’s work by highlighting issues around the ambiguous nature of construction and how it can act as both protection and confinement.
Jo Lightfoot, market manager at Ibstock said: “We’re delighted to help raise money and provide our materials for Shelter and strongly support the good work it does. It’s also brilliant news that our bricks, once used for the art project, will be offered to charities that collect building materials to distribute to those that can’t afford them.”
