Bristan is opening up its internal awards scheme to its customers and suppliers, who can now recognise the efforts of Bristan employees who go above and beyond the call of duty.
Bristan’s SHINE Awards is an internal scheme made up of five categories – Straightforward, Helpful, Innovative, No limits to customer service and Empower and Engage. The efforts of the staff are recognised by fellow employees, who nominate their colleagues into these categories if they feel they have gone above and beyond the set criteria.
Until now, the nominations could only be made by Bristan employees. But the company has now opened up the scheme so its suppliers and customers can vote, meaning that the efforts of those working out in the field dealing with Bristan’s customers on a daily basis can also be recognised.
Each quarter, three finalists from each category are chosen by the company’s Employee Forum, which then decides on an overall category winner. These winners are then entered into the Star Performer category, with the overall winner being announced at an award ceremony in January.
Employees who scoop the individual category awards each quarter receive £100 in high street vouchers, and the overall Star Performer wins £1,000 in holiday vouchers.
Rachel Smith, marketing manager at Bristan, said: “We value each and every one of our team and are continually looking for new ways to recognise the qualities and abilities of our employees. By opening up the nomination stream to our customers and suppliers, we are giving those employees who may not always come into contact with their fellow colleagues the chance to SHINE by allowing those who do have regular contact with them to nominate.”
