The BWF-CERTIFIRE Fire Door and Doorset Scheme will exhibit and speak at FIREX International to raise awareness about the crucial role of fire doors in passive fire protection.
BWF-CERTIFIRE will contribute to a seminar entitled ‘Quality and competency in passive fire protection: just a fond memory or an absolute necessity?’ This talk will explain how, by using the right fire door product to the right specification and having it installed by the right people with the right skills, you will get the right protection.
The central message promoted by the BWF-CERTIFIRE scheme is ‘stay safe, save lives, and stick to the specification.’ The stand at the FIREX exhibition will further emphasise the need to specify third-party certificated fire doors and doorsets, explain how these can be identified, and highlight why they are so important.
John Fletcher, manager of the BWF-CERTIFIRE scheme, says:
“Fire doors are an essential component in all public buildings, and it is critical that building specifiers and owners are aware of the latest safety standards for fire doors, as well as what their responsibilities are for the protection of lives and property.”
The scheme is using FIREX to help reach not just building contractors, managers and fire risk assessors, but anyone involved in fire prevention and protection. The event is part of a protection and management series and aims to encourage dialogue between facilities management and safety-related industries.
BWF-CERTIFIRE can be found at stand B5 in hall 3.
FDIS, Europe’s first fire door inspection scheme, will also be on hand to talk about the need for certificated inspectors to carry out regular checks on fire doors.
