Polypipe Regional Sales Manager Gary Foord is a sort of ‘plastic plumbing Bradley Wiggins’, and is undertaking a bike ride from Vietnam to Cambodia in November this year in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society.
As part of the overall fund raising activity he recently undertook a ‘Spinathon’ with merchant PTS – covering four branches in the South East in four days, riding non-stop from 7.30am to 11.30pm! With the assistance of PTS Canterbury Branch Manager Peter Snelling, they plotted a course that meant Gary rode around all the PTS branches in Kent and Sussex covering a huge 511kms.
“Each morning I was joined by my Polypipe colleagues to help promote the plastic plumbing ranges as this was an objective of PTS to increase sales on these products supplied by Polypipe,” says Gary Foord. “Whilst talking to customers about plastic plumbing systems they were invited to participate in a raffle to win an LCD colour TV in a draw raising more for charity.”
Gary won’t be lonely on his mammoth ride in South East Asia later in the year – he’s being accompanied by Ian Golden, Regional Director for Plumbase. And the winner of the TV in the PTS prize draw was Tom Redfearn of Redfern Plumbing & Heating.
