Geberit's touchless bathroom technology has been used to add a high end and hygienic finish at the Charlotte Square Offices in Edinburgh.
Charlotte Square is an iconic 18th century Edinburgh landmark and has long been recognised as a prestigious business address. This new chapter in its history comprises the renovation of six townhouses that made up the former headquarters of The National Trust Scotland, blending period architecture and features with the requirements of 21st century businesses.
Geberit Infrared taps and Sigma stainless steel flush plates feature in the projects bathrooms, providing a sleek finish and improved hygiene, thanks to touchless hand washing, and even interval flushing.
Described as "the architects' choice" by Lisa Morgan of architects, Morgan McDonnell, which designed the Charlotte Square Offices, Geberit's touchless systems have an unusually wide scanning range, ensuring ease of use for bathroom visitors, with various operation programmes including water saving, economy and interval or continuous flush options.
The interval flush prevents drinking water stagnation in the pipe; the continuous flush can be actuated for thermal disinfection.
"We chose Geberit for this project because we have confidence with the brand and the variety of products available," added Lisa.
"The redevelopment of 26-31 Charlotte Square creates Grade A Offices in Edinburgh's Newtown, Geberit's products met the high-end design brief in terms of functionality and style. There are alternatives out there but they just don't look as good."
