GE Lighting has recently been selected to supply a range of LED lamp solutions at the Imperial Hotel in Exmouth. MP Electrical selected GE Lighting over its competitors, as the company's robust and reliable LEDs could provide an ideal alternative to the existing incandescents and halogen in-situ, providing a high quality of light as well as an energy reduction of 20% year on year.
Set within four acres of its own grounds, the Imperial Hotel in Exmouth boasts Victorian style reminiscent of a time gone by. However, although it may pride itself on traditional décor, the decision was made to refurbish the building and bring its lighting scheme up to date, while retaining many of its historic features and charm.
Following a successful trial, GE Lighting was chosen to facilitate the switch from inefficient incandescents and halogens to energy efficient LEDs that crucially, would not compromise light output and the hotel's distinguished aesthetics.
A combination of lamps were used in order to achieve the desired ambient light levels throughout the public areas and toilets in the hotel including a variety of LED solutions: 12v LED spotlights, 240v 7-watt LED GU10 spotlights and 5 and 9-watt LED Energy Smart GLS lamps.
Mark Pope, Proprietor at MP Electrical commented: “When we select a lighting solution from a company, we need to know we can rely on its products. A lot of manufacturers offer cheap LEDs but you cannot guarantee their reliability or long-term capabilities. GE Lighting has such a long standing history when it comes to LEDs that we know we are installing products of a high standard, which in turn reflects well on our own business.”
GE Lighting offers a wide range of LED retrofit lamps with the aesthetic qualities of conventional lamps that are both economical and environmentally friendly. Suitable for hotel facilities and a range of lighting fixtures - they offer a simple, like-for-like replacement for inefficient incandescent and halogen lighting.
