Frese has won a major contract to supply dynamic balancing valves to one of London's most exclusive residential developments, 3 Merchant Square.
The 3 Merchant Square scheme comprises 201 luxury apartments and 10,000 sq ft of retail space in London's West End, near Hyde Park.
Frese, based in Burscough, Lancashire and the world leader in valve technology, is to supply more than 1200 Frese MODULA Compact prefabricated valve assemblies. These assemblies combine pressure independent control, drain, flushing and isolation valves with an integrated flow measurement device, and ensure precise control of heating and cooling systems in the building.
The valve assembly will be fitted to fan coil units in each of the 201 apartments and through accurate control of the temperature, will lower the flow and pump pressure through the building and lead to significant energy savings. Other benefits offered include low maintenance costs coupled with high flexibility for post occupancy extensions or alterations.
Frese won the contract because of their extensive experience of developing valves and energy efficient heating and cooling systems for some of the UK's biggest residential and commercial schemes.
Managing director at Frese, Stephen Hart said: “It was fantastic to be selected for such a landmark residential scheme in London. The use of pressure independent control valves in large scale residential projects really is the future when it comes to creating energy efficient buildings. We have spent over 25 years researching, innovating, designing and refining our dynamic balancing valves and this work is now really paying off, as more and more schemes opt for the use of pressure independent flow and temperature control valves as part of an energy efficient heating or cooling system."
Merchant Square is a mixed use development comprising six buildings, including the iconic 1 Merchant Square tower. 3 Merchant Square is the third building to be developed following the completion of 4 and 5 Merchant Square in 2010.
Frese was founded in Denmark in 1944 and opened its UK offices in Burscough, Lancashire, in 2004. It is a world leading manufacturer of pressure independent flow and temperature control valves for precise control of heating and cooling systems in residential, commercial and institutional buildings.
