Staff from Plumb Center and Parts Center supported a recent charity football tournament organised by Tesco, one of their major customers, narrowly missing glory by being knocked out in the semi-finals.
The tournament, which took place at the Power League stadium in Birmingham, had a World Cup theme where every team represented one of the sides playing in the World Cup.
In total there were three Tesco teams and 29 supplier teams playing in the tournament, which was so oversubscribed they had to hold a draw to decide who could enter.
All the money raised will go towards Tesco’s charity of choice, Whizz-Kidz.
The Plumb and Parts Center staff played in a team with their colleagues from other Wolseley divisions and they were nominated as France.
Wolseley works in partnership with Tesco Maintenance, an in-house team with over 1000 operatives maintaining in excess of 2000 stores, to enable them to provide a fast, first-time fix to all critical assets including area’s such as the bakery, catering, checkouts, HVAC, lifts, escalators and petrol forecourts plus any area that has health and safety implications.
