Generating an endless array of possibilities, Create Space is a refreshing new carpet tile collection from Forbo Flooring Systems, designed to unleash designers’ creativity and inspire striking flooring schemes.
Create Space features three richly textured ranges, in linear and plain designs, enabling designers and end users to mix and match as desired, using colour to connect across the installation or deliver eye catching contrasts. This truly flexible collection offers ultimate freedom to personalise spaces in a completely unique manner.
Viewed individually, Create Space 1, Create Space 2 and Create Space 3 are distinctive carpet tile ranges in their own right. Create Space 1 is a semi-plain low level loop pile carpet tile, available in 18 colours, including a number of popular architectural shades in tones of grey, as well as several vibrant trend shades, ideal for modern interiors. As a semi-plain tile, Create Space 1 works well when interspersed with the linear designs in the range, either in complementary tones or as a bright colour burst.
Create Space 2 is a distinctive linear loop pile carpet with a graduated stripe design, while Create Space 3 offers a striking linear design in a luxurious velvet cut and loop tile. Both Create Space 2 and 3 are available in 15 attractive colourways.
What’s more, a further variety of aesthetic effects can be achieved depending on whether the tiles are installed in a broadloom, tessellated, non-directional or half drop configuration – offering even greater design possibilities.
“Design is increasingly becoming more collaborative, with clients seeking opportunities for greater participation in the creative process,” comments Julie Dempster, Marketing Manager at Forbo Flooring Systems. “Create Space delivers an endless landscape of possibilities, as the unlimited breadth of combinations enables designers and end users to craft bespoke interior spaces that are perfectly tuned to their own needs.”
Create Space has been created in accordance with Forbo’s green design principles. The yarn used is made from Aquafil Econyl polyamide – which consists of 100% recycled materials, taken from both industrial and post consumer waste streams. Abandoned fishing nets are just one of the unlikely sources of waste materials that are used to make Econyl polyamide.
In addition, the tiles are produced in the UK using ‘green’ electricity from renewable sources – a further demonstration of Forbo’s commitment to sustainable design. As a manufacturer, Forbo has set a challenging company target to improve all environmental impacts. Using the 4 R’s of Reduce, Renewable, Reuse and Recycle as the cornerstone of its approach, Forbo has set out to make a reduction in its overall Life Cycle Analysis of 25 percent by 2015.
