Façades and shopfront specialist, DML, has opened up its account with a number of projects for Metro Bank.
The latest project for the Leeds-based firm, which was appointed by international consultancy and construction company Mace, is Metro Bank’s new Hemel Hempstead store. DML has also completed four other Metro Bank stores in the South-East.
Co-founded by Anthony Thomson and Vernon Hill, Metro Bank is Britain’s first new high street bank for over 100 years. It started with four stores in 2010 in Holborn, Earl's Court, Fulham and Borehamwood and now has 10 stores across Greater London, with the aim of having over 200 by 2020.
DML will supply and install a combination of new external façades, swing and bi-parting doors, glazed roof lights, double-glazed curtain walling, aluminium rain-screen cladding and single-glazed internal screens.
Chris Murray, sales director, DML, said: “To be appointed for Metro Bank is particularly rewarding as it’s a new concept for consumer banking. The design is built around a modern and fresh look and this has been reflected in the products we’re providing.
“DML is fast becoming recognised for its expertise in the retail sector, which is demonstrated by the growing number of projects for which we are being selected.”
As well as Mace, DML is a preferred supplier to several of the UK’s largest main contractors. The company offers a total capability façade solution from design and build to bespoke entrances, whether clients are seeking a specialised ‘one-off’ requirement or a comprehensive, conception-to-completion, full turn-key provision.
Mace is an international consultancy and construction company, employing over 3,700 people across five continents, with a turnover of £1bn. Mace’s business is programme and project management, cost consultancy, construction delivery and facilities management and is truly multi-disciplinary with services spanning the entire property and infrastructure lifecycle.
Mace has three strategic sectors serving clients in the private, public and infrastructure sectors and five strategic hubs in Europe, Middle East & North Africa, the Americas, Asia Pacific and Sub-Sahara Africa that service over 70 countries.
