Polypipe Terrain, the UK’s leading plastic piping systems manufacturer, is expanding its range of training open days by popular demand.
The free hands-on training days, which focus on sharing best practice and important installation techniques, are both product and project specific.
New dates have just been announced in May and June for the manufacturer’s Soil & Waste Training Day at its purpose-built Centre of Excellence in Aylesford, Kent. This interactive training programme is designed to give an in-depth knowledge and understanding to those designing, scheduling or installing above ground soil and waste systems, covering a range of topics including jointing methods, stack building, control of thermal movement and testing for some of Polypipe Terrain’s most popular products, including Terrain PVC Soil and Waste, Terrain FUZE and Terrain Acoustic dB12 triple layer pipe system.
Other industry recognised training courses run by Polypipe Terrain include underfloor heating systems and installations, Commercial and Technical Information for Distribution Partners and bespoke courses to match specific requirements.
Polypipe Training Manager Nigel Capon said: “It is important that as a leading manufacturer, we don’t just supply products to our customers, but also offer support and training on these products. When we design products, we design them to meet customers’ needs, to perform in the marketplace and to be manufactured.
“In order to achieve optimum product performance and life cycle, correct installation is key, and these training days not only highlight best practice, but also the methodology behind such techniques, taking into consideration factors such as the environmental conditions the product must perform in, and important building regulations”.
A wide range of delegates including local authority building inspectors, M&E contractors, apprentice plumbers, students, underfloor heating installers and military engineers have attended Polypipe’s standard courses and bespoke seminars.
Nigel added: “Whilst drainage has been around a long time, the introduction of new building methods, such as pod installations, require different assessment of the system performance. When it comes to installation there’s only one way to do it, and that’s the right way. We are more than happy to support our customers with training if required and we have been delighted with the uptake and positive feedback from our training days this year”.
