Retailers choosing VRV IV Heat Pump and VRV III Heat Recovery systems from Daikin UK will benefit not only from market-leading energy efficiencies, reduced carbon emissions and lower running costs but will also now see bigger tax savings, thanks to more of Daikin’s climate control equipment being approved under the Government’s Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) scheme.
The ECA Scheme is a key part of the UK Government’s programme to help manage climate change. It provides businesses with enhanced tax relief for investments in equipment that meets published energy-saving criteria.
Under the scheme, 100% of the investment can be written off against taxable profit in the year the equipment is purchased.
The RTD-20 Retail Economiser is the latest Daikin system to join the VRV IV heat pump and VRV III Heat Recovery commercial climate control range on the ECA’s Energy Technology Product List. This intelligent controller can form part of an overall VRV system and is designed specifically for retail environments, fitting directly into a building management system (BMS), or operating as a stand-alone control if there is no BMS.
The RTD-20 integrates VRV outdoor units and a range of indoor units, including ventilation units, ceiling cassettes and over door air curtains, allowing room temperatures to be managed zone-by zone.
For example, different settings can be made for back-of-house areas and the shop floor. Additionally, opening hours can also be taken into account to further improve efficiencies and reduce wastage.
Scott McGavin, Engineering Specialist, Daikin UK said: “We are delighted that the RTD-20 retail economiser has gained ECA approval, making it tax deductible.
"As well as the obvious financial benefits, VRV IV heat pump and VRV III Heat Recovery climate control solutions, combined with the flexibility and control offered by the RTD-20, can deliver real energy savings and reduced carbon emissions for retailers while maintaining excellent levels of comfort for customers and staff alike.”
