Daikin Airconditioning UK Ltd (Daikin UK) has launched Daikin City 2.0, a major upgrade of its interactive virtual environment that now features a library and a broadcast centre.
Daikin City demonstrates the dramatic energy savings that can be achieved by harnessing the latest innovations in heat recovery to provide low-cost heating, refrigeration, ventilation and hot water.
Daikin City already features a major hotel, bank, school, office, retail and convenience store, all of which users can visit to try out different options. The energy calculator displays the potential energy savings that could be achieved as part of an overall solution.
The new library is ideal as a quick reference source for HVAC engineers, or for business clients researching innovative solutions to climate control. Visitors can quickly access the latest brochures and technical data books by scrolling between library shelves and seeing at a glance all the information that is currently available on Daikin’s product ranges in cooling, heating, ventilation and refrigeration.
The library already contains over 120 brochures and data books and new items will be added regularly, including specification documents, case studies, industry guides and operation manuals.
Another new building to appear in Daikin City is the broadcast centre, which is Daikin’s media hub in the UK. Designed to offer quick access to all of Daikin’s videos, the centre features short films on space and water heating; commercial air conditioning; applied systems for process cooling; domestic renewable heating systems and information on Daikin’s unique VRV plug-in for IES Virtual Environment Software, developed to help engineers make HVAC load calculations more accurately.
Daikin UK has also introduced deeper content within the existing hotel building as part of the improvements. As well as the ground and first floor system configurations already demonstrated, the hotel now offers a room-specific example offering simulations of guest activity, demonstrating the significant energy savings that can be achieved using Daikin’s energy controls.
