COMBISAFE has developed an innovative socket for use with its edge protection posts or traditional scaffolding.
The socket comes complete with a hook and anchor to enable precast manufacturers to quickly secure it rigidly to the rebar without the need for wiring or spacers.
The socket is fixed at a junction of the rebar mesh before further reinforcements are added and the concrete poured. The use of the robust hook and anchor ensures the socket will not move while the casting table is oscillated or vibrated, or while the concrete surface is being keyed.
It’s a simple yet highly effective solution that will save precast manufacturers both time and effort. Finished floor/wall slabs can then be delivered to site pre-prepared for edge protection to be fitted before being craned into position.
Fully tested to Temporary Edge Protection Standard EN 13374 Class A, the four-part Rebar Socket is supplied as a complete unit comprising socket, hook, connecting nut and plastic cap.
With safety a prerequisite in every COMBISAFE product and system, the Rebar Socket has been tested against the effects of high winds – to 200 N in both inward and outward directions. As the pre-prepared edge protection is fitted before being craned into position, working at height is minimised and the highest safety standards maintained.
Weighing just 0.63kg, the Rebar Socket can be easily installed using a simple five step application process and just a power-driver.
