COBA Europe Ltd has recently supplied a significant quantity of its Premier Plus entrance matting tiles to South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE). SYPTE locations include bus, tram and train stations, park and rides and interchanges throughout South Yorkshire for which SYPTE manage all maintenance, cleaning and security at these busy passenger terminals.
The order for 2000 Premier Plus Tiles came via Vista Contracting (Barnsley) who also carried out the matting installation at the three SYPTE locations, including Sheffield Transport Interchange, Meadow Hall (Sheffield) and Barnsley Interchange.
All entrance areas in these three facilities have been refurbished with new Premier Plus Tiles which, between them, have to withstand an average annual footfall in excess of 13million people a year.
“Given the high volume of footfall, it is essential our entrance matting can withstand superior levels of wear and tear, while effectively controlling dirt and moisture to reduce the risk of slip hazards on the tiled floors. Smart, clean entrance matting plays a huge role in creating a good impression for passengers using our services,” explains Peter Cooper, Facilities & Environmental Manager at SYPTE. “Our decision to opt for Premier Plus was primarily based on durability, design and price. We are very pleased with both the performance and the appearance of the matting.”
Premier Plus Tiles comprise a flexible PVC base tile manufactured from 100% recycled materials, with a high quality carpet insert. The tiles, which can be moved around and installed with ease, simply link together to cover any sized area and can be cut to shape if required. Their flexibility and durability make them a cost-effective choice for busy entrance areas as isolated tiles in pathways prone to heavier wear and tear can be simply relocated or replaced with minimum expense. Cleaning and maintenance is made an easier and less time-consuming task too.
Suitable for indoor environments, Premier Plus Tiles can be installed in recessed matwells or laid to surface with optional bevelled edging.
Tile dimensions are 30cm x 45cm (15 mm h). Premier Plus Tiles are available in Black/Charcoal and Black/Grey.
