CEMEX, the UK's market leader in ready-mixed concrete, has awarded a new three-year national distribution contract to Wincanton.
The supply chain specialist already works with CEMEX, which employs over 3,000 people in the UK, delivering building products and packed aggregates to construction sites across the country.
This new contract means Wincanton is now responsible for both the planning and transport of bagged cement to UK construction sites, retailers and wholesalers.
It will do this from CEMEX's production facility in Rugby, Warwickshire, where the cement is produced, bagged and put onto pallets ready for distribution.
In all Wincanton will distribute some 15,000 loads per year across the UK utilising a core fleet of CEMEX-branded vehicles.
