Casella's Boundary Guardian a hit at construction site

Specialist in environmental and engineering projects chooses advanced noise and dust monitor for rapid return on investment plus ease of use, reliability and accuracy benefits.

Derbyshire-based Merebrook Consulting, which specialises in environmental and engineering projects, has selected the newly launched Boundary Guardian from Casella CEL to gauge noise and dust levels on a client’s construction site in Portsmouth.

Designed by the leading global specialist in occupational health and environmental risk monitoring solutions, the first simultaneous multi parameter monitor for dust, noise and wind speed and direction in the UK from a single manufacturer was considered by Merebrook to be the best product available to meet its requirements.

Comments Merebrook’s Linford Shacklady:  “We needed a monitoring device in order to help us to meet the regulatory requirements and conditions imposed as part of the remediation work being undertaken at the construction site in Portsmouth.  Casella’s Boundary Guardian is not only reliable, offering prompt service and fault resolution, it is fully autonomous, saving both man-hours and costs during long term projects.”

The Boundary Guardian offers reliability in the testing outdoor environment of this site where it is used to monitor continually PM10 – levels of small particles that are likely to cause adverse health effects - and noise levels, and where it is interrogated regularly by a full-time Merebrook site engineer.

With only minimal training required, the Merebrook team is able to access real time and historical data from the Boundary Guardian via a private log-in on dedicated website, www.dataview247.com, anytime, anywhere, and to extract data and produce reports.

Linford Shacklady concludes: “We have found the Casella product to be extremely easy to use, accurate and reliable and, within just six months it will prove to be cost effective.  We would definitely recommend it and look forward to using it on other clients’ projects in the future.”
