BRE’s INSITE13 conference, which takes place on October 2 and 3 at its head office site in Watford, will examine how we make buildings meet the needs of people and communities.
Everything that the industry does should be about creating sustainable places for people to live, work, learn and thrive in, whether it’s building low-carbon homes, carrying out energy-efficiency refurbishments, or creating safe, healthy and sustainable urban spaces. But are we succeeding?
The event will also ask:
These questions and others will be discussed by experts from BRE and across the industry at the conference which focuses on four themes around human factors; community; the impact of buildings on health and wellbeing; and the role of technology to improve buildings for people.
In addition, three exhibition areas will feature new and emerging technologies; products from RedBookLive and GreenBookLive; and solutions for sustainable retrofit. There will also be a chance to take a tour of BRE’s Innovation Park, including the BRE Victorian Terrace and the the newly refurbished British Gas Smart Home.
BRE Innovation Park Director Jaya Skandamoorthy said: “The ultimate goal for everyone working in the built environment should be to increase comfort, safety, health and wellbeing for the people and communities that use them. BRE, together with its university centres of excellence, is at the forefront of research into making better buildings for people and we hope that this conference will provide insights and inspiration for industry.
Caroline McGill, INSITE13 Conference Producer said: “We’ve designed a conference programme to provide industry with leading-edge insights and a forum for discussion and networking. Our exhibition zone will also provide delegates with a great opportunity to see some of latest innovative solutions for improving the built environment for people and communities.”
INSITE13 is aimed at architects and specifiers; property managers and owners; local authorities and housing associations; and anyone interested in improving buildings for occupants.
