The wood flooring specified at the new corporate HQ of publishing company, Immediate Media, makes a stunning visual statement.
For the calmer breakout area, contractors - Brighton based Rightwoods – installed Etloe’s mixed width Ash, an engineered floor made from Welsh timber with a birch ply back.
The floor was hand engineered and finished by Etloe in the UK using Bona Create Ice stain and Bona Naturale. The objective was to create a flat, natural looking surface which wouldn’t detract from the soft yet distinctive Ash grain.
At the opposite end of the building a rather noisier effect was created by using engineered oak finished with a Richard Woods screen printed design on the floor, stairway and walls of the sunken media screening area.
Bona’s Technical Manager, Alec Stacey, worked with Rightwoods to develop a specification to finish the surface comprising two coats of Bona Mega - normally used as a top coat but in this instance as a primer to provide the necessary build to level the screen printed surface- and two coats of highly durable Bona Traffic HD.
The Bona finishes used in each area deliver the required combination of looks, durability, and ease of maintenance.
Bona’s commercial maintenance products are to be used on an ongoing basis too by the in house team to clean and protect the surface and to extend the time required between recoating.
