The BBA’s application to operate a competent person self-certification scheme for the installation of solid wall insulation has been accepted by the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG). The scheme covers the installation of internal, external and hybrid insulation systems and is an excellent complement to the BBA’s many Agrément Certificates for solid wall insulation systems.
The scheme will mean installers can self-certify that their work complies with Building Regulations without the need for a separate assessment by Building Control.
So joining the scheme will save installers both time and money.
Surveillance visits by the BBA will be a requirement of the scheme along with notifications of all installations completed by scheme members. These surveillance visits will be integrated with existing ones at no additional cost for those installers that are already BBA Approved for the installation of solid wall measures to the requirements of PAS 2030:2012.
