Mark Prisk, Business Minister, discovered more about WALLTITE® PU spray foam insulation at an exhibition of construction products held at the BIS (Department for Business Innovation and Skills) in London last month.
The exhibition organised by the Construction Products Association (CPA) highlighted the strength of the UK building materials sector, which represents, collectively, 20% of goods manufactured in this country; with an annual output of more than £50 billion, 10% of which are exported. WALLTITE® from BASF Polyurethanes UK was one of several products on display at the event which showed the diverse range of products available from construction manufacturers.
Business Minister Mark Prisk said: “The construction products industry is vital to the UK economy employing around half a million people.” The Budget demonstrated the Government’s commitment to promoting UK construction growth through action on enterprise zones, regulation, and fundamental reforms to the planning system. “I am extremely grateful to the Construction Products Association and the companies who have contributed exhibits to this event.”
John Bullen, Sales Manager - In-situ Insulation says, “We are happy to support the CPA and any event which promotes construction products, in particular those products which promote sustainability. We are keen to help reduce carbon emissions in the housing sector and, through our work with the BRE, we have been able to show how WALLTITE spray foam insulation can help meet the Government’s green commitments.”
WALLTITE® is a seamless spray system which can be applied to internal walls and roofs. Once cured, it leaves a highly efficient form of insulation, resulting in as much as a 30% decrease in thermal transmission and an airtight building envelope of low permeability. By virtually eliminating air leakage, WALLTITE® with its closed cell structure helps control the movement of vapour and moisture throughout the building, reducing the risk of condensation and mould.
The exhibition is one of a rolling programme of themed displays demonstrating excellence in British design, engineering and manufacturing. The Government is committed to promoting UK manufacturing as it is critical to economic growth with responsibility for 53 per cent of UK exports and 2.8 million jobs.
