Barr+ Wray Ltd, one of the UK’s leading providers of aqua-leisure facilities, has secured a €900k contract in Baku, Azerbaijan which will see the company further enhance its reach in the Middle East.
The Glasgow-based company has landed a contract to design and install of all the major spa and pool facilities at Baku’s new Four Seasons Hotel.
Barr + Wray will be responsible for installing the steam rooms, saunas, hamams, rasuls and ice fountains for the plush new ninth floor rooftop spa at the hotel.
Set to open later in 2011, the prestigious 175-room hotel is inspired by 19th century French architecture and is set to be one of the largest hotels in the area.
The contract in Baku is the latest in a string of business wins in the East for Barr + Wray and comes in the wake of further lucrative deals in Turkey.
Barr + Wray will act as consultants for the new six star luxury hotel in Istanbul, providing engineering advice on the indoor and outdoor pools planned for the resort. Once completed the hotel will have approximately 50 heat experience cabins, including saunas and steam rooms.
Barr + Wray has also completed a design and supply contract for the swimming pools at Istanbul’s first ever seven star complex. The firm has supplied both a lap and vitality pool for the €100 million project which was recently launched by Palmali Holding and Marriot Hotels.
Deals such as this are contributing to Barr + Wray’s strong business performance, which has seen the company increase turnover by 17.2% to £15 million and profit before tax soar by 45% to £930,000 in the past year.
