Diners and drinkers at the White Rock Hotel in Hastings now get clear sea views, plus added wind protection, thanks to more than 50 metres of new glass and aluminium balustrading supplied by UK glass balustrading specialist Balcony Systems.
Finished with an anodised silver handrail, the low-maintenance installation replaced old cast iron railings and has transformed the seafront hotel’s appearance as owner Lawrence Bell explained: “It has made a massive impact on the overall external appearance of the building and we get a lot of people making appreciative comments and inquiring about it. It’s amazing!
“The old railings were ancient, rusty and we had to paint them regularly, which was costly and time-consuming. Balcony’s product is a million times better, with the added bonus of uninterrupted views and it stops the wind too.”
The new balustrade encloses the ground-floor terrace café/bar overlooking the coast road and beach beyond. It was installed as part of a major refurbishment project at the privately-owned hotel.
Lawrence added: “Keeping the clear views without the use of clips to hold the glass panels in place was important for us. After much research, we decided on Balcony Systems and are delighted with the result. As a highly visible addition to the building, the balustrade gives it a smart and inviting appearance.”
