30 November 2011 – The Association of Building Engineers (ABE) has this month launched its new website – www.abe.org.uk - marking the culmination of a comprehensive refocusing of the association’s missions and visions. The professional body for those specialising in the technology of building, ABE, hopes that this new website will better reflect its modern approach to building engineering and will enable visitors to browse web content effortlessly. Additionally, the website sees the addition of social media channels including Twitter, Facebook and a LinkedIn discussion group and the redevelopment of its members’ area, which will give members the opportunity not only to update their personal details, but also to book events and take advantage of members-only information. ABE president, Colin Bell, said: “Our modernised website is the perfect platform to help advance our mission to be the respected voice for building engineers globally, and enhance the reputation and profile of the building engineer profession. “ABE is committed to facilitating communication and cooperation between the different construction professions. I have every confidence that our new sleek and easy to use website along with our improved social media outlets will achieve this.” With this redesign, ABE aims to cement itself as the professional body of choice for forward thinking individuals and organisations operating within the Built Environment, both in the UK and around the globe. For further information about ABE, follow @BuildEng on Twitter or visit the new website at http://www.abe.org.uk.
