Confirming its position as a leading figure in the world of contemporary interior design, Forbo Flooring Systems will be showcasing a specially commissioned art wall at its EC1 showroom during this year’s Clerkenwell Design Week.
More than 100 pieces of mini-art by up-and-coming artists and designers will be on display, all of them produced using Forbo’s new revolutionary printed vinyl product: Floorink. Each of the art works has been specifically created to demonstrate the unlimited breadth of possibilities offered by this unique flooring product. Samples of the designs will be available, meaning visitors will be able to take their favourite piece of mini-art home with them.
Developed by interior specialists Printed Space in partnership with Forbo Flooring Systems, Floorink presents a dramatic and bespoke opportunity to create one off flooring designs. Combining unique state-of-the-art digital printing capabilities with a durable, commercial grade vinyl, Floorink offers designers free reign to flex their creative muscles.
Using graphics, high-resolution photography, maps, logos or bespoke designs, the possibilities are literally endless. Printed Space has considerable experience of dealing with any type, size, scale and complexity of design statement, and has perfected its high resolution printing process to guarantee pin-sharp and vivid images.
Janet Lowe, UK Market Manager at Forbo Flooring Systems, said: “Forbo Flooring Systems has always been at the cutting edge of contemporary design and we feel it is important for manufacturers to nurture up and coming talent. We are extremely pleased to be able to offer these artists the opportunity to showcase their work to a wider audience at Clerkenwell Design Week – and Floorink offers the perfect medium in which to do so.”
Also forming part of the art wall will be products from across Forbo’s extensive and fully integrated portfolio, including textiles, Marmoleum and Flotex, Forbo’s unique flocked floorcovering.
Visitors to the showroom on St John Street will also have the opportunity to win their own Floorink installation, as Forbo is giving away a bespoke floor for the winner’s home, produced to their own design. Simply register details at the showroom during the design week to be in with a chance of winning.
