Amazon Filters provide Side Stream filters for St Pancras International Station

Amazon Filters, one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of filtration systems, provided St Pancras International station with chilled water (CHW) and low temperature hot water (LTHW) Side Stream filters.

St Pancras International Station underwent substantial construction due to it becoming an integral part of the High Speed 1 (HS1) project.  During the construction works new heating and cooling systems were installed and these were fitted with preliminary Side Stream filters.

A review of the operation identified that upgraded filter systems were required to ensure maximum performance of this critical system. A full system performance evaluation and water analysis was carried out and it was concluded that additional filters should be installed.

Amazon recommended 61 Series multi round housings, high and low temperature 20 micron SupaGard filter cartridges, automatic vent valves and drain valves for this project.  These additional filters were needed at the end of each loop on the primary circuit and at mid-point feeding secondary circuits.

The project manager overseeing works at St Pancras International Station said:
“Once the system was up and running we discovered that the initial Side Stream system selected was inadequate for the solids loading generated during normal operation.  Fortunately, by involving Amazon at an early stage, a number of issues were identified and a solution put forward.  This has resulted in a much more effective heating and cooling system and trouble free operation.”

Keith Wickert, Marketing Manager at Amazon Filters said:
“We were privileged to be part of this high profile project to supply chilled water (CHW) and low temperature hot water (LTHW) Side Stream filters.”

Amazon Filters design and manufacture an extensive range of liquid filtration systems, providing one of the widest selections of filtration vessels, depth filters and pleated cartridges available today. Products are manufactured in clean room conditions and come with detailed Product Validation Guides and Technical Support documentation.
