Located on stand S1711 at this year’s Ecobuild, Alutec, the UK’s leading supplier of aluminium rainwater systems, will be highlighting its new range of BIM files, as well as showcasing the latest addition to the Tudor collection of downpipes.
Alutec is the only aluminium rainwater system manufacturer to launch a comprehensive range of BIM (Building Information Modelling) components and systems, which have been designed in partnership with Bimstore – the UK’s leading manufacturer specific BIM library.
BIM is a data rich 3D model of a building, which allows all those involved in the construction process to work from the same coordinated, highly detailed and consistent plan. At the heart of BIM are ‘objects’ – digital representations of the component parts of the building.
Throughout the three days of Ecobuild, Alutec will be holding live presentations on its stand about BIM and visitors can find out more about Alutec’s BIM offering, with any questions answered by knowledgeable representatives.
Alutec is also pleased to announce that it is launching a new 76mm version of its classically styled Tudor downpipe, which will be on show during Ecobuild. The Tudor downpipe system is the ultimate replacement for cast iron on listed and period style buildings. Available in 21 standard colours, including the uniquely textured Heritage Black polyester powder coating, the Tudor downpipe delivers a classic look without the associated maintenance and installation costs.
What’s more, Alutec will also have its popular Evolve and Aligator rainwater systems on display, as well as its Evoke fascia and soffit system. All of Alutec’s aluminium rainwater systems are so impervious to corrosion that no maintenance is required throughout the exceptionally long functional life span of 50 years or more.
Tony Wereszczynski, Technical Director at Alutec comments: “We are very much looking forward to Ecobuild, as last year’s event was very successful. Once again, we will be sharing our expertise with our customers and all visitors to the stand.
"With BIM becoming mandatory on all government-funded projects from 2016, we know that this is going to have a huge impact on the industry and become an important aspect for our customers. That is why we have developed our BIM object library so we can help make specification through BIM easier for our customers. Ecobuild is also a fantastic opportunity to talk to our customers in person, making it a great way for them to get advice and a more thorough understanding of BIM, ahead of the changes in 2016.”
