One of London’s best-known party boats, the M V London Belle, has been refurbished by leading flooring installation specialists Selby Carpets.
The M V London Belle is a familiar sight on the capital’s River Thames and carries up to 125 passengers who can enjoy barbecues, discos and karaoke while on board.
So when the owners decided it needed a bit of a facelift, they turned to Selby Carpets for help.
After assessing the boat and its uses, Selby Carpets specified, supplied and installed Forbo Flotex, which has all the warmth associated with a carpet, while remaining as cleanable as a hard floor. It’s 100% waterproof and hygenic, and splashes and spills can easily be cleaned up, leaving the floor looking like new.
For the dance floor, Selby installed vinyl tiles and an anti-slip product to the surface so slips would be kept to a minimum and spillages wouldn’t seep through the floor. Specialist installation techniques used included making heat-seamed joints to ensure the hard-wearing nature of the flooring material would be maintained over many years of use.
“Although this installation was great fun and in an unusual location, we still take our installation standards and recycling obligations very seriously,” says Ian Winsley, Managing Director of Selby Carpets.
“Our flooring installation will now stand many hours of hard partying and sightseeing and we made sure all off-cuts were recycled too.”
