A Ribble Valley leisure centre has transformed its entrance area with a little help from Altitude Studio.
Roefield Leisure Centre recently opened its doors to the newly installed reception and lounge area from the Clitheroe-based full service design and fit-out company.
Altitude was commissioned to develop a new reception complete with relaxation area as part of the £1 million build and re-fit programme at Roefield.
Sharon Snape, Director at Altitude Studio, explains: “I was briefed to help design the reception area along with a bespoke counter and a lounge area suitable for the serving of snacks and refreshments.
“Projects that involve developing a multifunctional space provide a challenge as it is important to make sure the functionality element is considered as well as the design appeal.”
Altitude was tasked with ensuring the installation was in keeping with the existing barn conversion but was contemporary enough to match the new feature glass wall in the new build.
Tony Rodia, Leisure Centre Manager at Roefield said: “Sharon understood exactly what we wanted to achieve. We remained open throughout the refurbishment which was testament to Altitude’s professionalism and co-operation.”
To aid in the process Altitude produced 3D visuals which were displayed throughout the entrance area giving customers a view of the changes that were happening, keeping them informed with changes to their leisure facility.
Sharon added: “I have experience of working with this industry and so I understand the key functions a re-fit like this needs.
“The leisure centre is very modern and so the features that were introduced to the design included contemporary flooring and colour scheme, a bespoke dark veneer wood counter, and functional work area. The clients expect a welcoming and relaxing environment and this is what I developed into the project.
“It has been great to work on a local project. The benefits from the refurbished leisure centre are going to profit the whole Clitheroe community of which I am a part of.”
