Housing developer, Rob Wyman Homes Ltd., is using British Gypsum’s Gyproc Habito to create four exemplar properties in South Wales.
The detached homes are being built to the same end goal: to create bespoke homes for modern professionals.
Rob Wyman, Owner of Rob Wyman Homes Ltd., commented: “Each and every detail of the houses offers a higher standard of living for the end user. From day one we worked with the architect closely to make sure every material and product selected delivered a specification that’s above and beyond the norm.”
The new homes will all feature British Gypsum’s Gyproc Habito, a new plasterboard that has a reinforced core which makes it five times stronger than its standard counterparts.
Due to its reinforced core, the plasterboard allows installers and homeowners to fit items such as shelves, curtain poles, picture hooks and TV brackets without specialist fixings. The increased strength of Gyproc Habito means that a single no. 10 woodscrew can support up to 15kg of weight, making it easy to move and install fixtures and fittings.
Commenting on the decision to use Gyproc Habito, Rob said: “The flexibility that this plasterboard offers end users was a big appeal for us. Our customers are looking for homes they can put their stamp on, whether it’s having the freedom to change the purpose of a room from a dining room to a bedroom perhaps, or just being confident that they can easily hang their large TVs and mirrors to make a room their own.
“Being able to meet these customer demands is a huge part of providing high quality homes, and Gyproc Habito will help us to do this.
“We’re also seeing the advantages of using Gyproc Habito during the build process to as there’s no need to backboard it.”
Rob concluded: “The product is spot on: straightforward to install, simple to plaster over and it goes a long way to meeting our requirements for high quality. People inevitably change rooms around so flexible solutions are important if we are to create homes that are future proof.”
