For the improved convenience of its customers, Heythrop Park, famous for its 18-hole Bainbridge golf course, has begun the process of upgrading 250 of its key and coin operated lockers in the clubhouse changing rooms to KitLock digital locks.
“Over recent months, we’ve been working hard to enhance our guest experience through the service and standards that we provide,” explained Ben Glover, golf operations manager at Heythrop Park.
The lockers were identified as an area for improvement because customers didn’t always have a pound coin with them and often lockers would be out of commission due to lost keys.
“Key-operated lockers can be problematic for sports clubs to manage on a large scale, as customers will inevitably misplace keys or accidently take keys home,” added Steve Newman, sales manager at Codelocks. “And when this happens no one else can use the locker until another key is cut or, in some cases, the barrel is replaced.
"I know of some sports facilities where a large number of lockers are inactive because no one knows where the keys are! Lost keys also represent an increased risk to security; especially if the key has a locker number on it.”
KitLock is a robust, digital cabinet lock from Codelocks, which is designed specifically for securing lockers. Fitted in place of standard key cam locks, customers simply enter a four-digit code on the keypad, lock and go; free to enjoy a round of golf without having to carry a key or use coins or tokens. A six-digit technician code ensures that supervisory access is available if customers forget their code.
