Three schools in Yorkshire and Lancashire have recently installed Giacomini modular underfloor heating systems throughout their entire premises. throughout their entire premises.
Giacomini modular systems consist of pre-built modules which are installed in 8 metre x 4 metre sections. The sections are created in a controlled factory environment and are then delivered to site and craned into position to simply be connected together.
This innovative system results in projects being completed punctually and quickly as, by using the modules, efficiency and installation speed are maximised. However, most importantly for the schools involved, the biggest benefit of using modular underfloor heating is that it is extremely cost efficient and helps keep the project comfortably within budget and effortlessly within the holiday timetable.
Philip Tidball, the Giacomini technical sales engineer who oversaw the project, commented: “Underfloor heating is proving to be increasingly popular within schools due to its safety benefits as well as being cost efficient.
“Further to this, Giacomini’s underfloor modular heating is an ideal system for schools as the majority of the construction and installation takes place in the factory with only the final connection taking place on site. This was certainly the main appeal for these three schools as they were seeking the quickest, easiest and most efficient solution to be able to provide heating on their premises during holidays.”
Giacomini’s modular underfloor heating system, as well as being safe and easy to clean, also works in conjunction with an air source heat pump that extracts heat from the outside air, which operates at the same low temperatures as the Giacomini system.
Giacomini is a leading producer of valves, thermostats and heating components, as well as cooling systems, thermoregulation packages and solar thermal energy systems. All of its equipment is manufactured in its factory in San Maurizio d’Opaglio, Italy.
